Alphabe-Thursday Where or When

OK, this week I am going to ask you all a couple of questions. When do you ever find the time to do all this blogging and commenting? Where do you sit when you do it?
The thing is, although I love to do my little posts I find that I am a very infrequent blogger and this discipline of Jenny's is often the only thing I do on my blogs (and I have two!) for weeks at a time. I am also a very bad commenter. Sometimes I find that after I have visited a blog and commented the whole thing crashes on me and I have to fiddle about re-starting and quite often the time is getting on and I don't continue. I am blessed with the gift of being able to sleep, and I need my 8 hours, so I don't surf in the wee small hours. My computer is upstairs so if I am cooking or eating or doing much of anything then I can't keep checking in and out - I have to sit down and look at the computer and do nothing else (except maybe listen to the TV in the background.) And of course, if I am out of the house then I can't get online either. So tell me where I am going wrong and give me your advice for being a better blogger (provided it doesn't involve spending any money please!)
And while you are here, here is a song called WHERE OR WHEN
sung by someone I may have mentioned once or twice before. It is actually a show tune from the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical Babes In Arms so a bit unusual for him, but from an album he did called As Time Goes By, which lots of people hated, but I loved.
If you are reading this before Thursday Morning UK time then the link will be up then for the rest of those W posts

  1. ...at the kitchen table, early in the morning and late at night....I don't have any extra time, with a full time job in town, a lot of work-related travel and a house and garden - but somehow I find the time because I love the reading and the writing,

  2. I blog early in the morning and during my son's nap time. I really should be doing other things like sleeping or housework.

  3. I blog in the early morning in my office about 4 days a week.

  4. I blog when I get a chance, but sometimes I just don't have the time. I seem to blog in spurts.

I visit one or two blogs each Alphabe-Thursday that usually make my computer freeze up. When that happens I restart my computer and don't go back. It's usually the blogs that have a lot of flashy stuff, music, ads, etc., and I think it's just all too much to pull up at once. It can be frustrating.

  5. when the kids sleep i blog. i also blog a few posts at a time and autopost them. i generally post 3 times a week.

i limit my time online by saying that i will check/comment but only for 1/2 hour and i stick with it.

hope you find what works for you :D

  7. I am an infrequent poster also. Once or twice a week. I rather read the other blogs anyway.

  8. I used to post alot more often. If it weren't for Jenny I probably wouldn't be posting at all right now. I'm pulling 50 hour weeks at work and DH and I are starting our own business and getting ready for a 3 day art festival out of town. So I comment as much as I can, but I feel somewhat remiss in that right now. I use a laptop so I can sit on the sofa and veg and blog and veg some more.

  9. Well, what can I say? Like some of the others I blog in the evenings during the week or ealry mornings at the weekend, I sit with my laptop beside most of the time whiling away the hours between work and bed! I limit my comments to an hour or so on Saturday & Sunday generally and then feel guilty that I don't get to them all!! Right now I'm sitting in a cabin in Rapid City, South Dakota at 8am on a Friday - missing home and all that's happening there!!

  10. I've traded my TV time for blogging and commenting except for a few TV shows. Sometimes when I'm cleaning and I need a break, I'll go in the computer room and read a few blogs. Sometimes I am better at commenting than others.

  11. I am with Viki - I gave up TV for the computer and I am on until late waiting for my teenagers to get home. I will pop in throughout the day but try to limit this.

  12. Ah can't give very good advice, since I am inevitably the one that is "behind"...and barely able to get one post up a week! But I do try very hard to reply to all those that leave a comment...and I do try very hard to see the others on a meme that I participate in.

I do appreciate and admire Ms. Matlock so very much for being sure to stop and comment at all her participants of her Alphabe-Thursday posts!
    Blessings & aloha!

  13. Unfortunately, I have a laptop and it is quite often on my lap. I sometimes feel overwhelmed with the whole thing myself. My favorite every week is Jenny's Alphabet Thursday. I am not sure why it draws me like none other....except I think it is Jenny. I find myself wanting to read the blogs of those that follow her. Maybe because I find them to be a little deeper....less shallow....better writers. Some weeks, I can't comment on many and some weeks I get to read several. But....there is no guilt in bloggyland. It is supposed to be fun, right?
