This week we are up to "E" in our Alphabe-Thursday challenge. If you would like to visit some other offerrrings go HERE
Next Monday me and him celebrate our eighteenth wedding anniversary. There were some who said it wouldn't last. A 36 year old spinster and a 60 year old disabled bachelor both very set in their ways. I think some of his family thought I was after his money. Little did they know he didn't have any. One friend said "You'll end up looking after him" Isn't that what you do for people you love? In fact I think he looks after me in all sorts of ways. I am amazed that he put up with me at the beginning. I was not the sweet, kind, patient person you see before you now. I have learnt so much from him and he is kind enough to say that he has learnt from me too. I think the people that know us well would say we have been very good for each other
Now, enough of this soppiness! E is also for earrings. I have a few, here's a picture. I do not have pierced ears but I make a lot of my own earrings and put them on those little screw fixings. I love beads. Unfortunately I often lose them so I have an interesting selection of single earrings which are waiting to be re-made into something else
By the way, what do you think of my efforts with Paint Shop, I am spending way too much time playing with it.

Wow - amazing collage! Looks briiliant :)
ReplyDeleteEIGHTEEN!!! Happy early anniversary. Once upon a time, my husband and I had naysayers...23 years later, I thumb my nose at their memory.
ReplyDeleteLove you collage. Adore your small dress form! Adore it.
Great job!! I'm following.
Happy Anniversary! We celebrate 19 in a couple of months.
ReplyDeleteI do like the collage...busy but not overly so. And so very colorful.
What a lovely story and happy anniversary. LOve4ly collage and lots of colours
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post - sappy is good sometimes! We had naysayers too, 29 years later we are still together and alot of them are not! Love the collage, so bright and colorful amidst all the gray of winter. Kathy
ReplyDeleteYou're doing very well with Paint Shop. Happy Anniversary! May you have many, many more together.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you both! 18....WOW! Love the photos!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your upcoming anniversary.
ReplyDeleteApparently I sneaked in too early yesterday so here's my pertinent comment today. Happy Aniversary for next week!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I like your heartfelt thoughts on your marriage. And all those earrings! Well, that is amazing!
ReplyDeletei just celebrated my 20th with my sweet hubby, we both were 35 when we married and it has been a wild ride! I think that when you are a little "experienced"( older) you bring more to the marriage! Congrats and I love your photos, I am debating on buying photoshop, is it hard to manuever?
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you both!!! Wishing you many more years of happiness together!!! love the photo collage!
ReplyDeleteWhat a collection. I love earrings, too...I always say that, no matter how chubby you get
ReplyDelete( referring to my proportions! ), earrings will always fit!
Listen, can you help me...again, I screwed up. My post for Alpha-B was "E is for Eleuthera" but, somehow, I did it wrong in Mr. Linky. Usually, Jenny enters it again for me. She is able to do that but I can't correct it. Will you tell me what I am supposed to put in afterthe Mr. Linky part. My site is http://www.rnsane.blogspot.com.
A++++ :) Your post was very imaginative and congratulations on your eighteenth anniversary!
ReplyDeleteeighteen years - awesome :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 18 years together!!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a great job with Photo Shop! I haven't quite figured it out yet. There is so much to figure out :{
Judy
Congratulations on 18 years. I'm sorry it "didn't last"! People are so negative, aren't they? Well you certainly proved them wrong.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this part, " Next Monday me and him celebrate our eighteenth wedding anniversary. There were some who said it wouldn't last. A 36 year old spinster and a 60 year old disabled bachelor both very set in their ways. I think some of his family thought I was after his money. Little did they know he didn't have any." It sounds like the start of a novel.
And on top of all that your mosaic is so E xcellent.
Thank you for an E ngaging post!
A+
Happy Happy Anniversary! I love your earring collection!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! And Phooey on those naysayers of the past! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic post! There is so much that I could say to you about several things in this post.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, congratulations! It makes me very happy to read about your happy marriage after 18 years. I believe very much in love and happy marriages. Unfortunately, I don't have one myself. I would call it a big mistake, if the children were not the best that has ever happened to me. They are my life's joy.
The other thing that I would like to say to you is that I also love earrings and I don't have pierced ears either. I make earrings with ear wires and posts to sell, but with screwback for myself. I have written an extra post about this. After my "E is for Earrings"-post, take a peek at:

Best wishes

Congratulations on 18 years! It's nice to prove people wrong like that, isn't it? *L*
ReplyDeleteI like your little dressform that you have your earrings on, I think that's a really neat idea =)
Lovely mosaic ever thought of joining Mosaic Monday? I think you'd fit right it with the rest of us who like playing around with pix.
ReplyDeleteWe visited Woodbridge last June, it rained then too! It is pretty though, especially the painted houses.
Happy Anniversary.
~Maggie~
congratulation on your 18 years and for making it work! It sounds like you both are good for each other and that is a wonderful thing...I love your collage and all your earrings...my granddaughter and I are both drooling over it all.......Melinda
ReplyDeleteDear Jaydulah (Please tell me what you would like me to call you),
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting again on my extra post about earrings.
I have been on Etsy since October 2008. My first shop is "parltradet" which is supposed to mean "the bead or pearl tree" in Swedish. Take a peek:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/parltradet
or click on one of the many links that I have on my blog "Anna's Adornments".
My other shop "AnnasAdornments" is my attempt to reach a greater worldwide public that do not understand Swedish.
Go to Esty's start pages and read about how to join.
It costs 0.20 US dollars to list an item (for three months time) in your shop and they take a fee when you sell. Etsy is a beautiful place to sell your products, lots of jewellery-makers and other crafters have a shop there. But the competition is fierce. Many do not sell very much at all. Take it as a learning experience. Try it yes. But don't expect to be able to earn enough money to support yourself yet.
I have learned a lot by being on Etsy and by meeting people through blogging. Advertising on Etsy is very expensive. Better to use off-Etsy advertising such as "Project Wonderful" (www.projectwonderful.com/) to advertise on other blogs (such as mine) for pennies or nothing a day to get potential buyers to look at your Etsy shop.
Please keep in touch.
You can write to my e-mail address:

Hello again!
ReplyDeleteUse your own blogs as store fronts for your jewellery. You can fetch a widget from Etsy and put it on your blogs.
You have already two blogs. When I started my Etsy shop I knew nothing of blogging.
Good Luck!
My very best wishes,
Anna
I too want to say congrats on 18 years! Such a blessing to find someone who will take care of you and allow you to take care of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog - yours is so colorful - and all of these beautiful beads! I love beads!!
The Blue and Orange bird you saw on my winter mosaic is actually an Eastern Bluebird and I am pretty sure they are only found in the US and Canada ( on the eastern side of course).
Thanks again for dropping by!
